Nelvaris: First Contact (Demo 9.0)

Greetings,

This is the 9th major update to the demo of Nelvaris: First Contact. I completed this update as part of feedback from players, as well as not being happy with the quality of the last version of the demo. This demo may be the last updates, despite my attempts to try and shorten the story of the game to make it easier and quicker to develop, it is still a huge time sink and currently taking too much out of me to complete.

There are 2 major updates to this version of the demo.

1. Gamepad Support
2. Key Rebinding for Keyboard, Mouse, and Gamepad

Each key bind has a button to reset it to its defaults

There are some known bugs with the new key rebind system, and these are in part to the limitations of the new Unity Input System.

1. The mouse wheel cannot be rebound - it is currently bound to speed up and speed down. If you rebind these actions and wish to bind them back to the mouse wheel just click the default button
2. Actions with modifiers (such as alt+j to warp out) are currently restricted to using modifiers. And actions without modifiers cannot be set to use modifiers. What this means if that if you want to rebind warp out to just 'j' you cannot, it has to be something+j. And if you have Match Target Speed to M, you cannot set it to alt+m
3. When you are in game, press Escape to see the menu, then you can click the tabs to see and rebind Keyboard Controls, and Gamepad Controls

Other Updates

You will notice that there is one or two test AI voices in the training mission. There are no other voices anywhere else in the game, as I am still deciding what to do for the best.

There have also been many bug fixes and tweaks to the controls and AI.

I have also fixed many spelling mistakes, and rewrote small parts of dialogue. Other random visual bugs have been fixed, and the AI has been tweaked slightly (to stop it constantly crashing into ships and getting stuck)
